Lee alum and basketball standout Kayla Brewer is back in the game. Kayla was a 2010 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. While at Lee she was awarded Times-Union Player of the Year, made All-Gateway Conference three times, awarded District Player of the year and 17U USA Select Team candidate. After graduating from Lee she signed with South Carolina and went on to compete at Texas and Tennessee Tech. She is now the Assistant Coach at Oceanway Middle School. Once a General, Always a General!
GIRLS BASKETBALL: Big week for the girls basketball team as they continued their winning ways. The Lady Generals improved their district record to 3-0 with impressive wins against Westside (44-24) on the road and Wolfson (58-34) at home. The Lady Generals closed out their week Friday night on the road knocking off Terry Parker 39-28 to improve their overall record to 5-1. Leading the Lady Generals this week was junior Jaela Green averaging 17 ppg over the three game span. Next week the ladies will travel to Sandalwood on Monday and host Raines on Tuesday. Junior Varsity plays at 5:30pm and Varsity plays at 7:00pm.
BOYS BASKETBALL: The boys team spent this week on the road opening the season Tuesday at Raines and closed the week at Stanton Friday night. The boys team put up a valiant effort but came up with a loss in both contests. The boys continue on a difficult stretch of the season next week traveling both Monday and Tuesday nights against Mandarin and Westside respectfully. Junior varsity plays at 5:30pm and varsity plays at 7:00pm.
GIRLS SOCCER: Coming into the week the Lady Generals soccer team looked to have a busy week with four games on the schedule, however a rain storm caused a cancellation of the Oakleaf game and scheduling conflicts caused a cancellation of the Jackson and Paxon games. The ladies however did face off against Ribault in The Backyard on Wednesday and came up with their second victory of the season winning 5-1 over the Trojans. Next week the ladies will host First Coast on Monday and Englewood on Tuesday. Both games start at 5:30pm.
BOYS SOCCER: Monday's rainstorm canceled the Generals game at Oakleaf, the game may be rescheduled for later this season. The boys however did take on Ribault in The Backyard on Wednesday and came up with a huge 8-0 victory. The win was the third for the Generals on the season. The boys will host First Coast on Monday and Englewood on Tuesday before taking time off for the Thanksgiving Break. Both games start at 7:00pm.
GIRLS WEIGHTLIFTING: No roster or results have been provided at this time.
The Lady Generals basketball team improved to 3-1 yesterday night with a 44-24 victory on the road over Westside. The Lady Generals have now won games against Mandarin (52-47), Englewood (77-28) and Westside. With the victory the Lady Generals are 2-0 in district play. Their next game will be a district game Thursday night at home against Wolfson. Junior Varsity plays at 5:30pm and the Varsity team will tip off at 7:00pm.
