Congratulations to the Lady Generals flag football team who beat Ed White last night 26-0. The Lady Generals will play Mandarin tonight for the Gateway Conference Championship.
The Girls Flag Football team lost their first game yesterday to the ladies of Baldwin. Both teams played a tough game, but it was the Indians who prevailed 7-6. The loss ties the district up with Baldwin, Ed White and Lee each with one district loss. With one district game left to play Lee must win to have a chance at the district title.
The district tiebreaker in the case of a three-way tie will be determined by head-to-head meetings. Since the three one-loss teams split losses the tiebreaker will be which team allowed the least touchdowns to district opponents. In the case of a Lee or Ed White loss a two-way tie will be determined by the head-to-head meeting, in which case Baldwin holds the tiebreaker over Lee and Ed White holds the tiebreaker over Baldwin.
Currently Lee hold the three-way tiebreaker having allowed only two touchdowns in district play and having beaten Ed White 20-0. Baldwin currently sits second in the district and has finished its district play having allowed three touchdowns to district opponents. West side rival Ed White has allowed five touchdowns to district opponents, but beat Baldwin 7-6.
Lee will play Paxon at home today to finish out district play. Ed White will also finish out district play today taking on Forrest.
The Lady Generals' Varsity Flag Football team has started the season on a roll, winning 5 consecutive games. This week the ladies will play three games. On Monday the Baldwin Indians will travel to Lee for last week's rain delayed game, Tuesday the Lady Generals will host the Paxon Eagles, and Thursday the Lady Generals will travel to Terry Parker to take on the Lady Braves. Good luck to the ladies and keep the streak alive!
