Congratulations to the Lady Generals' Flag Football team who defeated the Paxon Eagles yesterday 20-19. The Lady Generals overcame sloppy weather to pull out the victory. The Lady Generals are still waiting on news of the outcome of the Ed White/Forrest flag football game to know their fate in the district. Both the Lady Generals and Baldwin finished district play 3-1. With Ed White's victory over Baldwin earlier in the season a win for the Commanders would put the teams in a three way tie for the district title. The top two teams in the district also clinch a berth in the state playoffs.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletics (FCA) meeting yesterday was a big success. Over 60 students attended expressing an interest in joining.
Next meeting will be held Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 2:1
Due to the interest and projected attendance in the FCA Interest Meeting this afternoon the meeting has been moved to the cafeteria. The meeting will still begin at 2:15pm.
The Girls Flag Football team lost their first game yesterday to the ladies of Baldwin. Both teams played a tough game, but it was the Indians who prevailed 7-6. The loss ties the district up with Baldwin, Ed White and Lee each with one district loss. With one district game left to play Lee must win to have a chance at the district title.
The district tiebreaker in the case of a three-way tie will be determined by head-to-head meetings. Since the three one-loss teams split losses the tiebreaker will be which team allowed the least touchdowns to district opponents. In the case of a Lee or Ed White loss a two-way tie will be determined by the head-to-head meeting, in which case Baldwin holds the tiebreaker over Lee and Ed White holds the tiebreaker over Baldwin.
Currently Lee hold the three-way tiebreaker having allowed only two touchdowns in district play and having beaten Ed White 20-0. Baldwin currently sits second in the district and has finished its district play having allowed three touchdowns to district opponents. West side rival Ed White has allowed five touchdowns to district opponents, but beat Baldwin 7-6.
Lee will play Paxon at home today to finish out district play. Ed White will also finish out district play today taking on Forrest.
